Former F1 team owner Eddie Jordan has placed blame for Sergio Perez's current plight at the feet of Max Verstappen and Red Bull.

The Irishman claimed he is "embarrassed" for the six-time grand prix winner, suggesting he has retained his seat for as long as he has due to his team-mate not wanting a stronger driver alongside him.

F1 owner faces MotoGP deal setback – report

Formula 1 owner's Liberty Media are reportedly set to face a detailed investigation into its proposed takeover of MotoGP by the European Union, according to Bloomberg.

The financial news agency has reported that an investigation into the purchase is set to be announced later this month, almost eight months on from Liberty Media announcing the deal.

Briatore discloses surprise Alonso F1 offer

Alpine adviser Flavio Briatore has revealed Fernando Alonso received a contract offer from Williams prior to his Aston Martin switch at the start of last year.

The Italian manages the two-time F1 drivers' champion, who re-joined Team Enstone - and departed again - before he took up his current role in early 2024.

Former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher believes Max Verstappen is better than Lewis Hamilton, with the latter being rated as not "exceptionally talented".

Alpine leaves door open for Colapinto swoop

Alpine adviser Flavio Briatore maintains the French team would consider signing Franco Colapinto if he is available for the 2026 F1 season.

The Argentine driver burst onto the scene this year as Logan Sargeant's replacement at Williams, but with Carlos Sainz already confirmed to partner Alexander Albon next term, the 21-year-old has been left looking for opportunities elsewhere in the paddock.
