Verstappen looking ahead after tricky Portuguese Grand Prix

Dutch F1 star Max Verstappen has taken to Twitter in order to signal that he has put a difficult Portuguese Grand Prix weekend behind him.

Max Verstappen has admitted on Twitter that both he and Red Bull made the most of a difficult weekend in Portugal finishing second in the third round of the 2021 F1 world championship. Having won the previous race in Imola, expectations were high in the Red Bull camp heading into the Portuguese Grand Prix weekend. Unfortunately, both Verstappen and his team were comprehensively beaten by Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes with further salt being rubbed into the wound when Verstappen's fastest lap was deleted for exceeding track limits. The Dutchman however has put a tough weekend behind him as he prepares for this weekend's Spanish Grand Prix. Using Twitter as his platform of choice, the Red Bull man admitted that second place was the most he could hope for and that he's focused on what will be a very long season. The tweet can be viewed below.

Looking back at the #PortugueseGP , I have to say that finishing P2 after such a tricky few days was absolutely the maximum for us. This season is going to be long and we will be taking it one weekend at a time. And above all: we’ll keep fighting until the end #KeepPushing pic.twitter.com/Xvzaf9sdNy — Max Verstappen (@Max33Verstappen) May 4, 2021
