The 2024 F1 qualifying head-to-head results show some pretty damning results, in particular at Red Bull and Mercedes.
As well as becoming a four-time world champion, Max Verstappen was the most dominant driver in qualifying over his team-mate.
In the 24 qualifying sessions this year, the Dutchman out-qualified Sergio Perez in 23 of them. Stake F1's Valtteri Bottas was the second most dominant driver, as he out-qualified Zhou Guanyu 21-3.
Some of the qualifying head-to-head results from the recently completed campaign are surprising, in particular at McLaren and Mercedes.
At McLaren, Lando Norris was comfortably stronger over one lap than Oscar Piastri, with the British driver defeating his team-mate 21-3.
The same could not be said for Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes, despite having claimed the most pole positions in F1 history.
Hamilton was out-qualified by George Russell 19 times, and only got the better of his British compatriot on five occasions.
Alpine had the closest qualifying head-to-head results, with Esteban Ocon narrowly coming out on top at 12-11 against Pierre Gasly.
