Max Verstappen's chances of a successful Belgian Grand Prix weekend may be dealt a blow, with the Dutchman set to take a grid penalty for the race.

Heading into the race weekend, Verstappen had already used four internal combustion engines (ICE), turbochargers, MGU-Hs and MGU-K units, as well as two control electronics and energy stores.

Red Bull reach agreement with Verstappen over sim racing activities

Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko has revealed the Milton Keynes-based squad has reached an agreement with Max Verstappen regarding his sim racing activities.

Verstappen was criticised by some for taking part in a sim race on Saturday night ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix, staying up until 3am.

Why Verstappen to Mercedes in 2025 is starting to make more sense

The smart and sensible money remains on Max Verstappen being at Red Bull for the 2025 season as a four-time world champion looking to add a fifth crown to his CV. 

He is tied down at Milton Keynes, on paper at least, until the end of the 2028 season and in Austria, when asked the direct question of would he be staying for next term, said: "Yes, we’re already also working on next year’s car.

McLaren make 'number one driver' stance clear after team order debate

McLaren has signalled it would be open to implementing a number one driver hierarchy after its team orders dispute in the Hungarian Grand Prix.

In the closing stages of the Budapest race, McLaren was imploring Lando Norris to cede the lead and allow Oscar Piastri back through having been undercut by Norris at the final round of pit-stops.

Alpine reveal special livery for Belgian GP

Alpine will race a superhero-themed special livery at this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps. 

The Enstone-based team already has two standard liveries for the 2024 season. The main, predominantly blue-accented look, is being run at 16 of the 24 rounds.

McLaren beats Mercedes to major new sponsorship deal

McLaren has added another huge company to its sponsorship roster, adding the global payments firm Mastercard to its fleet.

It is a multi-year deal and Mastercard has been described by the team as a "major sponsor". The Mastercard branding will appear on the McLaren F1 cars later in the season.
