Max Verstappen drove a record-breaking season in 2023, from the most wins in a season (15) to the most number of points culminated in a season (454).
Now he looks set to break another previously held by Lewis Hamilton, which is the record for the longest races with consecutive points finishes.
The seven-time World Champion held the record for 48 races in a row, between the British Grand Prix in 2018 all the way to the 2020 Bahrain GP.
Incidentally, Hamilton already held this record having finished a total of 33 races in the points between the 2016 Japanese GP and 2018 French GP.
Verstappen sets sights on record
At the moment Verstappen has only finished a total of 19 consecutive races in the points, having won 14 times out of those in 2022.
But with that performance it puts him into the top ten in F1 history, having previously been on the list for his run of points between the Belgium GP in 2018 to the Hungarian GP in 2019 (21 times).
To overtake Hamilton he would need to finish in the points throughout the 2023 season, which would put him in reach of the record in 2024. That could be possible if Red Bull have worked out their reliability problems.
