Valtteri Bottas has confirmed that Cadillac suffered "some issues" during the opening session of Formula 1's official shakedown test in Barcelona.
Each team is permitted to run for three days across the five-day test, with F1's newest outfit having opted to use the opening day at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
Bottas was behind the wheel on Monday morning and unofficially completed 33 laps, setting a best lap time of 1m 24.651s.
Despite Bottas’ best lap being almost six seconds adrift of Red Bull’s Isack Hadjar, ultimate lap times are irrelevant for this week.
For Cadillac, the five-day Barcelona test is about gathering as much data as possible for its debut season in the championship.
Bottas revealed that issues were experienced throughout the morning for the American squad, but the same could be said for the other teams that opted to run on the first day.
Assessing his morning session, Bottas said: "It was cold in the early morning. It's quite hard to get the tyres to work here, as we know.
"But yeah, as the temperature picked up, things got a bit better, but we had some issues throughout the day. Like I said, it's de-bugging. That's why we're here.
"And it seems like every every team had some issues. So yeah, it's just now really figuring those out and then getting more and more running each day. But like I said, just great to be here and in the car."
