Why has the time schedule of the Bahrain Grand Prix changed?
In previous seasons, we saw a traditional schedule in Bahrain, with the first and second practice sessions on Friday, final practice session and qualifying on Saturday, and the race on Sunday. However, this schedule changes in 2024. But why exactly?
It has to do with the start of Ramadan and the rescheduling of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, which is why the opening race takes place on Saturday instead of Sunday. As a result, the race weekend runs from Thursday to Saturday.
So, the definitive days and start times of the Bahrain GP are as follows: on Thursday, the first and second practice sessions take place at 10:30 AM and 2:00 PM. On Friday, the third practice session starts at 11:30 AM, followed by qualifying later in the day at 3:00 PM. Then, on Saturday, the race is held at 2:00 PM UK time.
