A 39-year-old man has found himself in hot water after being charged with criminal trespass for sneaking into restricted areas of the Singapore Grand Prix at Marina Bay.
As reported by Channel News Asia, Daver Arish Adil, an Indian national, appeared in court on Saturday (10 October) to face two separate charges linked to the incident, which unfolded on the afternoon of 9 October, the day before the race at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
Police say Adil first managed to get into the ticketed event area despite holding an invalid ticket.
He is then alleged to have pushed further into a restricted zone reserved exclusively for Singapore GP staff and performing artistes.
Officers eventually located and detained Adil within the event area before placing him under formal arrest.

A second man, aged 35, was also arrested in connection with the case, with investigations into his involvement still ongoing.
Adil now faces up to three months in jail, a fine of up to S$1,500, or both, for each count of criminal trespass.
Police have reiterated that unauthorised entry into restricted areas of major events is treated seriously, pointing out that such breaches have the potential to compromise the safety and security of an event on the scale of a F1 race weekend.
This is not the first time security at the Marina Bay event has been tested.
Last year, an exchange student who trespassed into VIP areas at the Singapore GP was jailed for four weeks, a reminder of how firmly local authorities crack down on security breaches at the night race.
The incident comes just as F1 wraps up its Asian swing and turns its attention to the final flyaway stretch of the season, with the paddock now gearing up for the United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas on 23 October.
