Ahead of next weekend's Japanese Grand Prix, Yuki Tsunoda attended Formula E's inaugural Tokyo E-Prix on Saturday, the first race to ever take place in the Japanese capital. At the race which was won by Maserati's Maximilian Günther , the RB driver was spotted on the grid catching up with former teammate Nyck de Vries. De Vries and Tsunoda were team-mates for the opening 10 rounds of the 2023 season at the Red Bull sister team, before the current Mahindra driver was replaced with Daniel Ricciardo. Interestingly, a recent statistic has shown that de Vries' qualifying performance in the opening three rounds of last season, was better than Ricciardo's qualifying performances so far this year . Nevertheless, Tsunoda and de Vries quickly caught up on the grid before the race got underway, which the Dutchman unfortunately retired in.
