The Dutch Railway service, called the NS locally, is offering extra services to Zandvoort this weekend to bring people to the Dutch Grand Prix.
The increase in footfall to the seaside town has led to an increase in train services running from the country's capital, Amsterdam, to Zandvoort.
However, social media is currently flooded with photos of fans standing on overcrowded platforms.
The NS has encountered problems transporting race fans to Zandvoort due to a technical malfunction.
As a result, several trains have been cancelled, causing chaos at stations. Passengers were escorted onto trains, only to be made to get off again because the train couldn’t move.
As a result, the NS is unable to get a portion of fans to Zandvoort on time.
At Amsterdam Sloterdijk and Haarlem stations as well, the crowds have now grown so large that people are having to wait for the next train.
In Haarlem in particular, it has become so crowded that people there, too, are at risk of not arriving at the circuit in time for the sprint race. All in all, this is a huge blow for many fans, who will now have to miss one of the most important sessions of the race weekend.
