The unbelievable McLaren and Aston Martin 2025 statistic

McLaren and Aston Martin boast an unbelievable statistic heading into the 2025 Formula 1 season!

Driver market pandemonium last year ahead of the upcoming 2025 Formula 1 season has resulted in a quite unbelievable statistic, shared by McLaren and Aston Martin.

Following a dramatic silly season, only two teams have retained its 2024 driver pairing for the new campaign which starts next month in Australia.

This year represents the third season in which Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have partnered each other, with it being the same for Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll.

It is highly unusual for the longest driver pairing on the grid to only be entering its third year together, with that still being seen as a relatively fresh line-up.

Of course, at Aston Martin, it has the most experienced driver in Alonso, who is going into what is a record-breaking 22nd season.

The reason why McLaren and Aston Martin has the joint longest driver pairing, is due to all the other eight teams having a new line-up for 2025.

Six full-time rookies feature on this year's grid, the most in the pinnacle of motorsport since 2010.

Last season's joint longest driver pairing was Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez at Red Bull, and Charles Leclerc alongside Carlos Sainz at Ferrari.

Those pairings were together for four seasons, before Perez parted ways with Red Bull and Sainz joined Williams on a multi-year deal.
