It was a strong weekend in Jeddah for Red Bull both on track and in the pit lane, as the Milton Keynes-based squad managed to clock faster pit-stops than their rivals in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

Whilst Ferrari had an advantage in this area during the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix, Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen both had quicker stops at the second race of the campaign than Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.

Only the McLarens of Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris were able to get fresh tyres at a faster rate than Perez, with the Mexican's stop coming in at 2.53 seconds.

Verstappen had the fifth-quickest time of 2.60 seconds, while the Williams of Alex Albon was sandwiched between the two Red Bulls with a 2.55 second stop.

The Ferraris were only marginally behind, though. Leclerc's pit-stop clocked in at 2.62 seconds, and Sainz's was 2.70 seconds.

Mercedes behind in the midfield

There is a slight gap between Sainz's time and that of the next closest pit-stop of George Russell.

The Briton's stop was 3.07 seconds, but this was quite a bit ahead of teammate Lewis Hamilton, whose time was 3.94 seconds. This puts the Silver Arrows in the middle of the pack, and suggests there is still work for them to do in the pits.

They weren't the only team to struggle with their pit-stops, though. Other outfits towards the lower end of the timings board include Aston Martin and AlphaTauri.

It was Alfa Romeo at the very bottom, with Zhou's time coming in at 15.57 seconds due to a five-second penalty as well as the car falling off the jack.
