Team Verstappen narrowly missed out on pole position for the 2026 Nürburgring 24 Hours.
It was Dani Juncadella driving for the #3 Mercedes GT3 outfit in the fight for pole, after Lucas Auer and Max Verstappen completed Top Qualifying 1 and 2, respectively.
Juncadella had two laps to try to clinch a famous pole, with his first lap putting him down in ninth on the timesheets after posting a 8m 18s.
It was almost seven seconds adrift of Marco Mapelli in the #130 Lamborghini, elevating the pressure on Juncadella's final lap.
He found huge amounts of time to make a significant improvement, although narrowly missed out on pole.
The Lamborghinis proved too strong, with the #84 Lamborghini securing pole ahead of the #7 Lamborghini and the #16 Audi. Verstappen's outfit had to settle for fourth, just eight tenths adrift of pole.
