Saturday qualifying for the 2021 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix provided fans with one of the most enthralling sessions we've seen so far in the turbo-hybrid era.
Lewis Hamilton managed to hold off the charging Red Bulls of Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen to take a famous 99th career Pole Position. However, with Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas well down the pecking order in eighth, the British driver has it all to do from the front of the grid.
Ferrari had a rather mixed session, with Charles Leclerc starting the race from an impressive fourth, whilst new teammate Carlos Sainz lines up 11th, after failing to qualify for Q3.
Elsewhere on the grid, the McLaren drivers line up sixth and seventh, with a track limits violation denying Lando Norris of what would have been a career-best qualifying position on the second row.
Esteban Ocon out-qualified Alpine teammate Fernando Alonso to earn ninth, while Aston Martin's Lance Stroll rounds out the top 10.
