Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies has revealed it will not make a second driver change this season, instead opting to continue supporting Yuki Tsunoda.
Since replacing Liam Lawson following the second round of the campaign – the Chinese Grand Prix – Tsunoda has found himself in the RB21 alongside Max Verstappen.
Like the majority of those before him to partner the four-time world champion, Tsunoda has struggled to deal with the Dutchman's superiority.
Statistically, Tsunoda is currently the first Red Bull driver in the outfit's history to go seven consecutive point-less races – excluding retirements – and has faced four Q1 exits in the last eight grands prix.
To add to the Japanese driver's struggles, just seven of the Milton Keynes-based team's 194 points have been scored by him.
It has led to suggestions that Red Bull should immediately promote rookie Isack Hadjar, who has excelled at Racing Bulls and scored more points than Lawson.
However, progress was made by Tsunoda in the recent Belgium-Hungary double-header, even if the results did not show it.
Since receiving a new floor in Spa-Francorchamps, Tsunoda reached Q3 at the historic venue, before finding himself within two-tenths of Verstappen in Hungary.
With this in mind, has Mekies made the correct call to stick with Tsunoda?
