Oscar Piastri was dealt a costly 10-second time penalty during the British Grand Prix for a safety car infringement.

The penalty was served during his final pit stop, causing him to drop behind Lando Norris.

Shortly before the end of the race, Piastri asked the McLaren team if it would be possible to swap back positions if the team felt the penalty was unfair.

The request was not fulfilled, with Piastri acknowledging he knew it was an unlikely scenario to occur.

“I thought I would ask the question,” he told media including RacingNews365 after the race. “I knew what the answer was going to be before I asked.”

But do you believe McLaren should have carried out the request from Piastri?
