Sergio Perez has been handed a drive-through penalty at the Monaco Grand Prix for a false start, with the stewards deeming his Cadillac to be out of position when the lights went out.
The six-time grand prix winner rose to P14 in the opening corners of the 78-lap race in Monte Carlo, but has fallen towards the rear of the field having served his punishment, coming out just in front of team-mate Valtteri Bottas in P18.
The Mexican driver will also be investigated by the FIA after the race in the Principality for a practice start infringement.
George Russell was also noted for a potential positioning issue at the start, but no further action was deemed the appropriate course, with his Mercedes in position but just angled towards the centre of the track.
