Former Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher isn't a fan of the ongoing contract dispute between Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton, calling the situation embarrassing. The reigning world champion remains unsigned with less than two months before the start of the 2021 campaign. Ralf, who raced for various teams from 1998 to 2007, believes the situation surrounding Formula 1's most important figure should have already been decided. "It is actually a bit embarrassing and a shame," Schumacher told the Sky Sport Deutschland. "It's February and the situation regarding the most important person in Formula 1, the seven-time world champion, remains unclear. "People always say it's about money, but I hope not. One thing is clear though, and that is Formula 1 is stronger than any individual." With speculation mounting regarding whether George Russell could replace Hamilton if an agreement fails to materialise, Ralf gave a word of warning to the reigning champion. "That risk is there and Lewis shouldn't forget it," Schumacher concluded.
