Logan Sargeant's Canadian Grand Prix came to an end with a crash, with his challenging 2024 Formula 1 campaign continuing.
Sargeant, who is believed to be fighting for his future having struggled since making his debut last year, lost the car on the exit of Turn 4 on lap 26 of the grand prix.
The Williams challenger spun around and entered the wall rearwards, inflicting terminal damage.
The non-finish is Sargeant's second of the season after he failed to see the chequered flag in Miami when he came together with Haas' Kevin Magnussen.
A safety car was called to clear up the stricken Williams, with the US native being the first driver to retire from the race.
