Carlos Sainz has refused to elaborate on a looming potential switch to Williams, but insists he is "proud" to be able to decide where he races in 2025.

Leaving Ferrari at the end of the season to make way for Lewis Hamilton, Sainz has been tipped with a big-money move to Stake for 2025 before Audi arrives in '26, with Nico Hulkenberg already signed up. The Spaniard has not agreed to that deal as yet.

Alpine confirm 'option' to replace departing Ocon

Jack Doohan has been confirmed as "an option" for Alpine as it explores who will replace the departing Esteban Ocon.

In the build-up to the weekend's Canadian Grand Prix, Alpine confirmed Ocon will be leaving the team at the end of the season after what will be five years with the Enstone-based organisation, with the partnership running its course, according to team boss Bruno Famin.

Russell makes clear call on Antonelli ahead of future Mercedes drive

George Russell feels there will be no need for him to mentor Andrea Kimi Antonelli when the Mercedes junior steps up to the F1 team.

Mercedes has yet to make a call as to who will replace Lewis Hamilton when the seven-time F1 champion leaves at the end of the season to join Ferrari.

Verstappen given Red Bull upgrade boost: 'Data is promising'

Max Verstappen's bid for a fourth consecutive F1 title has received a considerable boost at a time when Red Bull's pursuers are gathering momentum.

Verstappen pulled off a crucial victory in Canada on Sunday as the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve was not expected to be favourable to Red Bull, allowing him to open up a 54-point lead over Ferrari's Charles Leclerc in the drivers' standings.

Leclerc completes latest Pirelli 2025 tyre test

Charles Leclerc completed the first day of a two-day Pirelli tyre test at Mugello, the Italian circuit owned by Ferrari which hosted a Grand Prix in 2020.

The Italian tyre manufacturer was gathering further data for its 2025 compounds, with Leclerc having driven 630 kilometres.
