Sainz handed honour of taking all-new Williams F1 car for first spin

The Williams FW47 has broken cover at Silverstone, and Carlos Sainz has headed out on track first!

The new Williams F1 car has hit the track for the first time, with new signing Carlos Sainz taking the FW47 out at Silverstone.

The Mercedes-powered machine was taken out by Sainz for two laps shortly after 10:00am local time at Silverstone, with the car the second to hit the track after McLaren on Thursday.

Sainz has joined Williams from Ferrari, and is partnering Alex Albon at the Grove-based squad, which is sporting a testing-only livery as the actual 2025 design featuring new title sponsor Atlassian will be publicly unveiled during the F1 75 live launch event at London's O2.
