Russian Grand Prix 2022 The latest F1 news about the 2022 F1 Russian Grand Prix

The 2022 Russian Grand Prix has been cancelled following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and an F1 race will not be held in the country in the future.

The Sochi Autodrom was the venue of the Russian Grand Prix since the event made its debut on the F1 calendar in 2014.

Lewis Hamilton was the driver to beat in Russia, having won five of the eight Grands Prix in the country so far. The Briton added to his tally in 2021, despite Lando Norris looking on course to take the victory.

The McLaren driver opted to stay out on track, rather than pit for Intermediate tyres, as rain fell in the final laps. This gamble did not pay off, as Norris slipped down the order and handed the win to Hamilton.

The 2022 Russian Grand Prix has been cancelled following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and F1 has also confirmed that the contract has been terminated, meaning that a race will not take place in the future.
