Rosberg expects more contact between Hamilton and Verstappen

The 2016 Formula 1 world champion believes further collision between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen are inevitable.

Nico Rosberg is sure that Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen will collide again during the 2021 Formula 1 season and expects Red Bull to be the team to beat at this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix. The championship protagonists collided last time out at Silverstone which caused a huge reaction from Red Bull including team principal Christian Horner who was still frustrated days after the incident . Rosberg thinks the fans are the big winners of this new rivalry in F1. "It's the battle of the generations, both will not leave the other even a centimetre," Rosberg told Sky Sports. "We've seen that already in previous races. Silverstone was not the first time they had contact. They already had contact at Imola in Turn 1 [for example] and we are going to see more I'm sure. "It's this generation battle. The best guy of the last generation, or even at the moment, versus the best guy of the next generation. It reminds me of Senna and Schumacher, Alonso and Schumacher. "It's within the same team too which is another dynamic. This is the added dynamic, we don't just have the drivers but the team bosses and the whole team against each other. There were some big blows after Silverstone going both ways. "Red Bull taking a lawyer and 'saying it was wrong of them to celebrate when one guy was still in hospital, those are pretty big blows. For us fans it's fantastic entertainment." Verstappen's lead in the Drivers' Championship has been cut to just eight points ahead of this weekend's Hungarian GP. It's a track which favours Red Bull according to Rosberg. "Before Austria it was Mercedes that had the stronger package," said Rosberg. "After Austria it was suddenly Red Bull that had a much stronger package. Now Mercedes might be back so, even there, in that dynamic. "Hungary is a very different track again, it's more like Monaco style so you'd probably put Red Bull ahead there. "But it's a Lewis track. It's one of Lewis' best tracks ever. Hungary, Montreal, maybe Silverstone, I would put right up there. In Hungary Lewis is unbelievably fast so, wow, I mean who knows?"
