Red Bull tease FIA over strict new sanctions

The FIA has introduced new sanctions that could see harsh punishments issued to drivers during the upcoming season.

Red Bull has teased the FIA with a social media post after the governing body announced harsh sanctions ahead of the new season. F1 stewards now have the power to hand out significant fines for first offences involving instances such as swearing or speaking out against the FIA. However, the punishments may escalate with repeat offences which could see drivers receive race bans and championship point deductions. The new regulations are unlikely to go down well with F1 drivers, as well as competitors in other FIA-governed categories. Max Verstappen was handed community service last year when he swore in an official FIA press conference in Singapore, promoting the Red Bull driver to deliver short messages while in front of the cameras. He then proceeded to speak with journalists outside the FIA press conference room where he described his dissatisfaction with the penalty. Red Bull has used an image from his impromptu media session on social media platform Threads with a caption that appears to take a swipe at the FIA and its new rules. See the post below!
