Red Bull advisor Dr Helmut Marko has said that outgoing chief technical officer Adrian Newey's "experience and knowledge" could have helped stem the tide of McLaren's surge to dominance in F1.
Red Bull started the season with a comfortable delta to its rivals and looked set to enjoy another year as imperious as 2023.

McLaren inflict 'papaya rules' on Norris and Piastri
McLaren team principal Andrea Stella has highlighted the “papaya rules” in play at the Italian Grand Prix between Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
The duo will start the race from Monza in first and second place respectively with Norris pipping his team-mate to pole position by one-tenth of a second.

McLaren boss Andrea Stella has declared that it will prioritise Lando Norris over Oscar Piastri in the F1 title fight against Max Verstappen.
Heading into the Italian Grand Prix where Norris and Piastri started on the front-row, McLaren had declared that "papaya rules" were in effect, with Piastri promptly barging past Norris at Turn 4 on the opening lap.

Magnussen set for F1 race ban after Italian GP penalty

The Haas driver will be forced to sit out the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in two weeks after accumulating too many penalty points.

Haas issues statement after Magnussen receives F1 ban
Haas has confirmed it will not appeal Kevin Magnussen's race ban for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, after the Dane received the sanction.
Magnussen was handed two penalty points by stewards in Italy for a collision with Pierre Gasly at Turn 4, but both drivers were able to continue without further incident as Magnussen finished 10th for his first points since Austria after a 10-second time penalty.

Magnussen hits out at stewards after F1 race ban triggered
Kevin Magnussen has hit out at F1 stewards after earning enough penalty points to trigger a race ban in the Italian Grand Prix.
Magnussen was handed a 10-second time penalty and two penalty points on his super licence for causing a collision with Pierre Gasly at Turn 4 - although both were able to continue.
