Red Bull would be willing to loan Liam Lawson out to Williams for the remainder of the season as a potential replacement for Logan Sargeant.
Sargeant's immediate future within the Williams squad is under question after the American driver suffered a high-speed crash during FP3 at the Dutch Grand Prix.
Sargeant will depart the Grove-based outfit at the end of the current campaign, with Williams confirming the signing of Carlos Sainz during the summer break.
But following his crash at Zandvoort, reports emerged that Sargeant could be dropped as soon as before next weekend's Italian Grand Prix.
Ex-Haas F1 driver Mick Schumacher has emerged as a candidate to take over the spot.
However, Lawson, who is being tipped for a full-time drive within the Red Bull F1 camp next year, could also be an option for Williams.
When asked by media including RacingNews365 if loaning Lawson out for the rest of the season to Williams is an option, Horner replied: “It would depend on which terms and if we needed him back that we could have him back quite quickly.
“If they needed a driver next weekend, we would be open to that. But that's a Williams question rather than one for us to answer.”
Lawson has five grand prix starts to his name, substituting for Daniel Ricciardo when the Australian injured his wrist last season.
