Red Bull is suffering through a painful F1 season and is on track for its lowest finish in the constructors' standings since 2015.
The single biggest factor in the Milton Keynes squad's dire campaign has been the abject lack of productivity from its second seat.
The RB21 has proven even more troublesome than the difficult RB20, but Max Verstappen has still found a way to claim two victories and sits third in the F1 drivers' standings, albeit 97 points off the pace of Oscar Piastri, with 187 to his name.
In the second seat, however, the combination of Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda has scored a woeful seven, all of which have come from the latter after taking over the drive from the former just two rounds into the campaign.
The alarming disparity in output between its two cars is an issue that has long-plagued the six-time F1 constructors' champions, but the team has made it clear it does not intend to make any further driver changes this season.
It is something a plurality of F1 fans agree with. In a recent poll conducted by RacingNews365, over 47 percent of respondents stated Tsunoda should be given at least until the end of the year to prove himself.
Conversely, around one in four felt it was time to re-promote Lawson, with just under 13 percent endorsing Racing Bulls rookie Isack Hadjar getting the nod.
Change or otherwise, increasing the performance of the team's second car will be a key area for new team principal Laurent Mekies to focus on over the final part of the campaign.
