Red Bull handed bitter blow by F1 fans

F1 fans no longer believe Red Bull can secure a third-successive F1 constructors' crown, with a startlingly low percentage of supporters continuing to back the team's chances.

Confidence in Red Bull's ability to retain the F1 constructors' championship appears to have been almost completely eroded.

The Milton Keynes squad is aiming to win a third consecutive title, but only a mere fraction of F1 fans still believe the team will prevail against McLaren and Ferrari.

Red Bull sits 40 points behind the former, but with the latter only eight points further back, there is not guarantee it can hold onto second place, let alone triumph again.

In a recent poll conducted by RacingNew365, just 4.2% of voters backed Red Bull to win out and claim the constructors' crown again.

Meanwhile, a majority of respondents believe McLaren will hold steady in the lead, to take a first constructors' title since 1998.

However, with Sergio Perez and Oscar Piastri starting towards the back of the grid in the Mexico City Grand Prix, Ferrari has a premium opportunity to take chucks out of the papaya squad's advantage - and likely leap-frog Red Bull in the process, too.

Carlos Sainz starts on pole position, with team-mate Charles Leclerc in fourth. Even if Max Verstappen wins the race at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, the pair can draw level by rounding out the rest of the podium, so long as Perez does not score points in his home grand prix.
