Potential new F1 driver in Zandvoort test

Alpine is testing at Dutch Grand Prix venue, with junior driver Jack Doohan banking valuable mileage for the team.

Alpine is busy putting reserve driver Jack Doohan through his paces during two days of testing at Dutch Grand Prix venue Zandvoort.

Armed with the 2022 machine that finished fourth in the Constructors', Doohan has been in action on both Tuesday and Wednesday at the track as the Australian banks crucial F1 miles.

Doohan has been touted as a potential 2025 Alpine driver should either Esteban Ocon or Pierre Gasly opt to leave the team following its poor start to the 2024 season.

The son of MotoGP legend Mick, Doohan has taken part in four FP1 young driver sessions across the 2022 and 2023 seasons, last driving in practice for the 2023 season-finale in Abu Dhabi.

Alpine's A524 started the season over-weight, with technical director Matt Harman and head of aero Dirk de Beer resigning, as exclusively revealed by RacingNews365.

The team has managed to remove weight from the car, with Ocon scoring the first point of the season with a dogged drive to 10th in Miami.

RacingNews365 will be present at Zandvoort on Wednesday. Check out a photo of the test below! Exclusive videos and interviews will follow later.
