Max Verstappen to Mercedes is the latest piece of speculation percolating in the F1 rumour mill.
Toto Wolff is a long-time admirer of the three-time drivers' champion, and has spoken openly in recent weeks about how Mercedes and Verstappen is a partnership that needs to happen at some point in the future. But is the future now?
Verstappen is contracted to Red Bull until 2028, two years into the next F1 regulation cycle - and there is no guarantee the Milton Keynes-based team will be the dominant force in the championship by then.
The Dutch driver is understood to have a break clause in his current deal that could see him leave if Red Bull advisor Dr Helmut Marko also leaves the team. Furthermore, Christian Horner has said in the past that if someone does not want to honour an existing contract, then it is not a given they would be held to it.
So, with the reports that Mercedes are set to offer Verstappen a huge deal to secure his signature, do you think the 26-year-old will leave Red Bull at the end of the season?
