Christian Horner was very clear about what Sergio Perez needed to do to keep his Red Bull seat for the 2024 season after his poor 2023.

The team needed Perez to be closer to Max Verstappen and support him by finishing second, or at worst third, and be in position to collect a win should a mechanical issue strike.

From the first four races, Verstappen has three wins and Perez has been second in each, with floor damage preventing anything better than fifth in Australia when Verstappen did retire with brake failure.

It is exactly what Red Bull need from the driver who is in need of a new contract in 2025 - with the vultures circling to steal the most prized seat in F1.

Carlos Sainz, Yuki Tsunoda, Daniel Ricciardo and even Fernando Alonso have their eyes on the seat - but is Perez's strong early season form enough to retain it?

He says he knows what his future will be within a month, but what do you think?

Vote in the latest RacingNews365 poll to determine whether Perez has shown enough to keep his seat for next season.
