Oscar Piastri kicking gravel onto the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps during Q3 at the Belgian Grand Prix has caused a red flag.
The final part of qualifying was already delayed due to Nico Hulkenberg's stricken Audi being parked up at Pouhon due to a hydraulic leak.
Once Q3 got underway, Lando Norris put his McLaren on provisional pole — even though he will face a 10-place grid penalty — but it was the other MCL40 that caused the stoppage with 6:06 left on the clock of the 13-minute session.
Piastri, down in seventh, ran wide between Stavelot and Curve Paul Frere (Turns 14 and 15), with gravel coming onto the racing line as a result.
Max Verstappen triggered a red flag during FP2 for the same reason.
After a delay of around seven minutes, the session got back underway.
