Reigning Formula E world champion Oliver Rowland has dedicated his podium in the second race of the Jeddah E-Prix to his new race engineer, whom he conceded he had put under major pressure.
The Briton faced a challenging double-header at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, which saw him finish the opening race 17th after also crashing in qualifying.
Following the first race, the Nissan driver bemoaned a serious lack of pace before completing a typical Rowland comeback.
He had excellent pace in qualifying ahead of the second race and progressed to the semi-finals, where he was defeated but still secured fourth on the grid.
Rowland, as is often the case, was strong in the peloton-style race and secured a podium in third, marking a staggering comeback a day after he had shown little pace.
The 33-year-old had felt unwell at the start of the event, although he felt much better by the second race of the double-header.
His podium also came on his 100th race in the series and was dedicated to his young new race engineer, who had been up until 5am after the first race, when he sent Rowland a report.
Discussing how he felt ahead of the second race, Rowland told RacingNews365: "I was pissed, but I was motivated. I'm more happy for my team.
"My race engineer is new — he's young, coming into a world championship-winning group and then having a bit of a disaster like we were. I've been putting a lot of pressure on him.
"So I think, to be honest, this one is actually for him, because he sent me a report at 5am, and when I woke up I was like, as much crap as I give him, fair play.
"That guy can still be going at 5am — it's impressive. So, yeah, credit to him. And yeah, we turned it around. It's still not perfect, but it's a step in the right direction."
