Norris notes Mercedes struggles: They looked terrible

McLaren had an excellent winter test in Bahrain. The same can't be said for Mercedes, and Lando Norris was quick to point that out.

Lando Norris was happy with how testing in Bahrain went for McLaren, but the Brit was no doubt drawn to the struggles of Mercedes, noting the team didn't look as comfortable as they normally do. The reigning champions have been the team to beat during Formula 1's turbo hybrid era, but a tough three days ahead of the start of the season has the Silver Arrows looking somewhat vulnerable. Norris didn't hold back in saying they looked terrible at the Bahrain International Circuit. “It’s always the same with testing,” Norris told F1TV. “Mercedes looked terrible over the last few days and maybe not quite as comfortable as what they have done over the last few years. “The last few years they’ve been slow [in testing] but everyone knows they’re going to be quick. But the last few days, they just looked like they struggled or made some more mistakes here and there. Maybe not quite as comfortable." As for McLaren, Norris was happy with what he saw from the team following their switch to Mercedes engines. “It’s difficult to know what everyone’s doing,” said Norris. “You have to wait and see. “But at the same time, I think we can be confident we have a decent car. We have things to work on, for sure, it’s not all wonderful and perfect. But I’m happy and I’m just excited to get things started.”
