Lando Norris has stated it is “silly” to underestimate Lewis Hamilton this season ahead of his first campaign at Ferrari.
Hamilton will make his debut for the Italian squad in Australia next month after drawing the curtain on his Mercedes career at the end of 2024.
Ferrari is being tipped as a major contender in the upcoming title fight, as is McLaren, who won last year's constructors' championship.
Hamilton endured a difficult final three seasons at Mercedes, who slipped back in the pecking order under new technical regulations.
When asked by Sky F1 if he expects to see a revitalised version of Hamilton this year, Norris said: “I would have thought so.
“I don’t know. Again, everyone’s different.
“I think it’s cool what he’s doing and what he’s done and going to Ferrari. I think it’s very special. I think Ferrari is incredible.
“I feel like he would struggle to find any reasons to not be motivated. You know, it’s an incredible opportunity for him. It’s a cool story.
“I’m sure there’s a lot of bonuses with a lot of things going over to Ferrari, so there’s a lot of reasons to be more motivated and be ready to go.
“It’s Lewis and I think anyone who doubts him is a bit silly.”
Hamilton has already made his on-track debut for the team, taking part in a series of private tests to prepare him for his new venture.
