Four drivers will face the stewards ahead of the São Paulo Grand Prix Sprint after a hectic Sprint Shootout.

Lando Norris topped the session with a last-gasp effort to secure pole for the Sprint but the Briton has been flagged by the stewards over a failure to follow the FIA Race Director's instructions regarding the maximum lap time.

AlphaTauri's Yuki Tsunoda, who finished sixth in SQ3, has been flagged for the same alleged offence although recent precedent suggests both drivers will be let off - a likely explanation is that the duo were moving aside for rivals on hot laps.

Alonso and Ocon crash sparks investigation

For Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon, the summons regards their bizarre collision in SQ1 that brought an early end to both of their sessions.

Alpine's Ocon lost control at Turn 3 and slid into the Spaniard, who was dawdling off-line to allow his former teammate through.

Both teams face a race against time to repair their cars following the extensive damage caused.
