Adrian Newey has revealed that he had to leave Red Bull to remain "true" to himself, but admits he would have called his departure "crazy" 12 months ago.

The legendary F1 designer announced his departure from Red Bull on May 1 last year, before his switch to Aston Martin was confirmed on September 10.

McLaren warned over threat to F1 driver line-up

McLaren has been warned Oscar Piastri may look to leave if he does not feel "prioritised" by the Woking-based team. 

Although the F1 constructors' champion maintains it has no 'number one' driver, Lando Norris was the preferred option toward the end of last season, as he tried to put together a drivers' title challenge against Red Bull's Max Verstappen.

New Hamilton Ferrari race suit unveiled

Ferrari has offered a first look at the race suit that will be worn by Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc this season.

Much of the intrigue in the off-season has surrounded Ferrari and the arrival of Hamilton, who ended his long-standing partnership with Mercedes at the end of last year.

Wolff makes 'never' revelation in Verstappen Mercedes communication

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff has revealed that there was "never" a concrete plan to sign Max Verstappen from Red Bull to replace Lewis Hamilton. 

Whilst a plan was not in place, constant communication did take place between Verstappen and the Silver Arrows, according to Wolff.

Bottas F1 return chance grows with Mercedes loan option

Valtteri Bottas' chances of being called upon to race during the 2025 F1 season have been boosted.

Bottas was dropped by the Stake F1 team at the end of last year's campaign as the team opted to sign Nico Hulkenberg and rookie Gabriel Bortoleto ahead of Audi's takeover in 2026.

Mercedes announce F1 2025 launch date

Mercedes has confirmed it will unveil its 2025 F1 car, the W16, two days before the start of pre-season testing. 

The Brackley-based squad will pull back the cloth on its latest challenger on Monday 24 February.
