Mercedes-AMG's latest road car project - the ONE - has smashed the production car lap record at Italian Grand Prix venue Monza.
Armed with a 1.6L V6 turbo engine, the same as in the Formula 1 cars - the machine lapped Monza in 1m:43.902s to smash the existing record for a production car by nearly 11 seconds.
For comparison, the fastest lap time recorded in the 2022 Italian Grand Prix was a 1m:24.030s from Sergio Perez, with pole being a 1m:20.161s from Charles Leclerc.
275 examples of the car are set to be sold, with customers needing to stump up $2.7 million USD or £2.1 million GBP.
Lewis Hamilton has snapped up two of them, one each for him and father Anthony, with no word whether he got an employee loyalty discount...
