NASCAR winner delivers medical update after horrific bizarre fall

One of the strangest and scariest moments in motorsport took place after Saturday's NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Watkins Glen.

Saturday's NASCAR Xfinity Series race winner Connor Zilisch has delivered a medical update on his condition, following a horrific fall whilst celebrating victory at Watkins Glen.

The 19-year-old won a crazy race which featured a shock 16-car crash, but fell from his car in victory lane.

As he attempted to stand on the roof of his car, the American teenager slipped and hit the ground awkwardly, briefly knocking himself out in the process.

TV footage quickly switched to commercials, before the driver was stretchered and taken to hospital.

Later on the same day, Zilisch delivered an update on his condition via social media, confirming he had suffered a broken collarbone.

Zilisch wrote on X at 9:19pm EST: "Thank you everybody for reaching out today. I’m out of the hospital and getting better already. Thankfully, CT scans for my head are clear, I just have a broken collarbone. Thankful for all the medics for quick attention and grateful it wasn’t any worse."

Following the accident, Trackhouse Racing has withdrawn the #88 set to be driven by Zilisch from the NASCAR Cup Series race at Watkins Glen – the Xfinity Series is the step below.
