Motor-racing fans will be able to strap themselves in for a thriller of a weekend in the middle of June next year following the release of next year's World Endurance Championship calendar.

Earlier this year, F1 confirmed its 2025 schedule, with the Canadian Grand Prix set for its traditional June date. Ordinarily, however, the race at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve occupies the first weekend of that month.

For next year, with the Spanish GP the last race of a triple-header that also includes Imola and Monaco, the race is set for June 1. It means to ensure there is a two-week gap between events, the Canadian GP will take place over the weekend of June 14-15.

WEC officials have, perhaps unsurprisingly, settled on that exact weekend for Le Mans, rather than either June 8-9, or 21-22, which are free on the F1 calendar.

There is a bonus, however. Although the qualifying sessions on Saturday are set to clash, Sunday offers up a bonanza as race fans can watch the conclusion to Le Mans through the day up until its 4pm CET finish.

They will then be able to draw breath before tuning in to watch the Canadian GP that started at 8pm CET last Sunday, and has become renowned for providing plenty of thrills and spills, as was the case at the weekend.

The WEC calendar follows this same pattern as this year's schedule, starting and ending in the Middle East with Qatar and Bahrain respectively, with races at Imola, Spa-Francorchamps, Interlagos, Austin and Fuji in between, as well as Le Mans.
