A minute's silence has been held for Juha Miettinen at the Nurburgring ahead of Sunday's qualifying race following his death on Saturday.
Swede Miettinen was killed after a seven-car accident early in the first four-hour qualifying race at the Nordschleife, a circuit on which the regular driver had five wins and a near 50% podium rate across his starts.
The race was immediately red-flagged following the incident and not resumed following, with Miettinen's death announced at a specially-organised press conference.
Max Verstappen was among those to pay tribute to Miettinen, with the four-time F1 champion present in his bid to qualify for the race.
Organisers confirmed that a moment's silence would be held for Miettinen on Sunday morning before the four-hour qualifying race, with the moment being impeccably observed across the grid, with cars featuring tributes to the fallen 66-year-old.
