Mick Schumacher's IndyCar debut came to an early end after he was involved in an incident on the opening lap.
The former Haas F1 driver has embarked on a new career chapter in the Indycar series, signing with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.
The opening round of the new IndyCar season got underway this weekend in St Petersburg, with Scott McLoughlin taking pole position for the race.
Schumacher started from 21st on the grid and hoped to make his way through the field to mark a strong debut.
However, his race lasted just four corners.
Sting Ray Robb of Juncos Hollinger Racing ran too deep into the braking zone and made contact with Santino Ferrucci.
Schumacher, who was to the left of Ferrucci, had nowhere to go and clipped the back of Ferrucci's car.
Both Schumacher and Ferrucci were eliminated from the race, while Robb was able to continue.
