McLaren Racing has announced a new multi-year partnership with Global, the British media and entertainment group, which will see the company join both its F1 and Hypercar team as an official race partner and official audio race partner.

The deal was revealed live on air this morning as presenters from two of Global's flagship national breakfast shows, Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden and Capital Breakfast with Jordan North, Chris Stark and Sian Welby, visited the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking.

Global, founded in 2007 and based at Leicester Square in London, has grown into one of the largest commercial radio groups in Europe.

The company owns a portfolio of major UK radio brands including Capital, Heart, Smooth, Classic FM, LBC and Radio X, and also operates a substantial outdoor advertising business with more than 250,000 sites across the UK. Global Player, its digital platform and app, streams all of the company's radio stations live and offers podcasts, on-demand content and curated music playlists.

As part of the agreement, Global branding will feature across team radio headsets during F1 race-week activity at Monaco, Silverstone and other key European rounds.

On selected F1 race weekends, Global Player branding will appear on race-team headsets worn by McLaren personnel and team drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.

The partnership will also extend to McLaren's World Endurance Championship Hypercar programme, which is scheduled to make its debut in 2027. The Hypercar class represents the top category of the WEC and includes the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Matt Dennington, co-chief commercial officer at McLaren Racing, said: "Global shares our commitment to reaching fans in meaningful ways.

"Bringing them into some of our most iconic race environments will add real value to how we connect with audiences throughout the season. We look forward to working closely with the Global team across the selected races."

Mike Gordon, chief commercial officer at Global, said: "Partnering with McLaren Racing as official race partner and official audio race partner is a brilliant opportunity to put Global Player at the heart of the action on one of the world's biggest sporting stages.

"Global and McLaren both have a drive for performance and precision, with a shared focus on entertaining and engaging audiences. We're excited to keep race fans updated on Global Player, across our radio brands and our billboard network."
