McLaren has announced Alex Dunne as its new Formula E reserve and development driver.
Dunne was signed to McLaren's driver development programme in May last year, and is continuing to be supported by the Woking-based outfit.
He made his Formula 3 debut last year having been crowned the 2023 GB3 championship vice-champion.
Dunne competed for MP Motorsport last season and scored 50 points, including two podiums in Barcelona and Monza.
His racing plans for this year are set to be announced in due course, however, he is delighted with his new McLaren FE role.
"I’m excited to be joining the NEOM McLaren Formula E Team as Reserve and Development Driver," said Dunne.
"Working with NEOM McLaren as part of my experience in the McLaren Driver Development programme is an excellent opportunity to hone my skills.
"I'm looking forward to doing what I can to support the team and learn as much as possible."
Dunne will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of McLaren's FE rookie Taylor Barnard, who was promoted to a race seat this season having been its reserve and development driver last year.
The Irishman is viewed highly by McLaren, with the FE outfit's team principal, Ian James, excited to see him involved.
"I am delighted to welcome Alex as the team's Reserve and Development Driver," said James.
"Alex is an up-and-coming talent in single-seater motorsport and has been part of the McLaren Driver Development programme since last season, through which we have been able to follow his progress and development.
"We are all looking forward to working with him in 2025. Alex will play an important role for us, adding value to the NEOM McLaren Formula E Team with his drive and talent, while also gaining experience himself along the way."
