McLaren has announced that F2 protege Alex Dunne is deputise in an FP1 session for the second time at this weekend's Italian Grand Prix.
F2 title contender Dunne made his F1 session debut in place of Lando Norris at the Austrian GP, in the first of four mandatory young driver sessions across the season.
Both Norris and Oscar Piastri are required to give up their MCL39 for two FP1 sessions each for a total of four, but heading to Round 16 at Monza, only Norris in Austria had done so.
McLaren did not make clear in the video released of Dunne who he would replace for the Monza session, but RacingNews365 understands it is Piastri who will miss his first session of the season.
The team had previously confirmed that IndyCar star Pato O'Ward would be in for FP1 at the Mexico City Grand Prix in October, taking the team to a total of three, meaning one more session is required.
