Max Verstappen has been backed to win on his GT World Challenge Europe debut in Portimão, by RacingNews365 readers.
In a poll asking whether Verstappen would triumph on his first outing in the GTWC Endurance Cup, a majority of readers sided with the four-time F1champion regardless of the circumstances.
A total of 60.95% of those who voted in the poll predicted the Dutch racer would claim victory, despite only qualifying 15th on the road before a penalty elsewhere promoted the machine, also driven by Ben Barnicoat and Chris Lulham to 14th.
However, 39.04% of voters did not believe Verstappen would win but would claim a podium, with 11.64% of voters predicting the trio would not finish on the podium altogether.
