Max Verstappen explained "final changes" were made to his Red Bull ahead of claiming a stunning pole position for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

The Dutchman bounced back to his brilliant best at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, pipping Oscar Piastri to pole position by just 10 milliseconds.

Lando Norris has agreed with his radio comment branding himself a "fucking idiot" following his Saudi Arabian Grand Prix qualifying accident.

Championship leader Norris will start 10th on the grid in Jeddah following a huge accident in Q3, where he hit the wall at Turn 5 after losing control of the car over the Turn 4 exit kerb.

Christian Horner has reflected on the risky decision to have Max Verstappen attempt two push laps in the final part of qualifying for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, after the Lando Norris-induced red flag stoppage.

The McLaren driver's crash left just 8:32 on the clock, meaning it was a marginal choice between the two options available: one push lap or two.

Toto Wolff deals Max Verstappen crucial blow over rumoured Red Bull exit

Toto Wolff has indicated that he is not willing to "flirt" with Max Verstappen as he appeared to close the door on a potential swoop for the Red Bull driver.

Wolff has spent time trying to court Verstappen away from Red Bull, including as he searched for a replacement for Lewis Hamilton, but eventually chose Kimi Antonelli.

Helmut Marko hails 'incredible' Max Verstappen after Saudi pole

Helmut Marko has pinpointed Max Verstappen's final corner as where he was able to seize Saudi Arabian Grand Prix pole from McLaren.

Verstappen was 0.001s faster than Oscar Piastri after the first laps, with the Australian then improving further to set a new all-time track record for provisional pole in Jeddah.
