Max Verstappen has been awarded a heavy penalty at the Spanish Grand Prix after two separate incidents with George Russell.
The Dutchman and the Mercedes driver first came together at the safety car restart at the Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya, with Verstappen appearing to leave the track and gain an advantage after contact between the pair in Turn 1.
The stewards handed down a verdict of no further action for that incident, however.
That was before a seemingly more egregious collision a lap later at Turn 5, after Red Bull recommended he hand the place back to Russell.
The second incident has seen Verstappen given a 10-second time penalty, dropping him from fifth to P10 at the chequered flag for causing the collision.
Verstappen, along with Charles Leclerc, has also been called before the stewards for contact on the pit straight after the Red Bull driver suffered a snap of oversteer and the two cars touched as the Ferrari came past on lap 61 of the 66 lap race.
