Red Bull advisor Dr Helmut Marko has stated he will sit with Sergio Perez after the Belgian Grand Prix to discuss his future at the team.
Perez endured another difficult qualifying session in Hungary on Saturday, crashing out of Q1 following a spin at Turn 8.
The Mexican driver has scored just 15 championship points across the last six races, leading to question marks over his future at the reigning world champions.
Perez's shunt has placed further scrutiny on his shoulders, with a decision at Red Bull set to be taken after next weekend's Belgian Grand Prix.
"We stick to our approach,” Marko told Sky Germany. “We wait for the next race and then we sit down together to prepare and see what we are going to do.”
Current RB drivers Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo have been linked to the seat alongside Max Verstappen.
However, so too has Liam Lawson, despite the New Zealander having just five race starts to his name.
"Again, we'll wait for the next race at Spa and then we'll make a decision,” Marko said.
“But Lawson didn't just do that test [a Red Bull filming day at Silverstone earlier this month], he also spent a lot of time in the simulator, for example, so he's definitely a candidate if it could come to a needing a candidate.”
