Helmut Marko has revealed that the due date for Max Verstappen's first child with partner Kelly Piquet is not set to clash with a grand prix.

Verstappen and Piquet announced they were expecting their first child together in late 2024, with the due date expected to be in the early summer of 2025.

However, F1 is currently in the middle of a run of seven races in nine weeks between the Japanese GP on April 6th and the Spanish GP on June 1st, meaning Verstappen could miss the birth of the child.

Fortunately, Red Bull driver advisor Marko has explained that Piquet is not expecting to have the baby on a grand prix weekend - but it is close to the Miami Grand Prix.

"The date of birth does not overlap with any of Max's racing activities and is scheduled for early May," Marko told Krone Zeitung.

The publication then gave an expected due date of Tuesday, May 6th, which is just two days after the Miami GP - which is a standalone event, with a week's gap between the Saudi Arabian GP on April 20th and the Emilia Romagna GP on May 18th.

Once the baby is born, Verstappen will become the second father on the 2025 grid, joining Stake's Nico Hulkenberg, who has a daughter born in 2021.

Both Sergio Perez and Kevin Magnussen are also fathers, but both lost their seats at the end of the 2024 season.
